Garden of the Gods

In cliched terms, no visit to Colorado Springs is complete without a seeing the Garden of the Gods which is a public park and National Natural Landmark. The dramatic 300ft tall sandstone rock formations are the most visited attraction in the area and often crowded. On this occasion, I followed a less crowded trail to catch the sunset and in a slightly different direction, I saw this. Some of the formations in the park are have names like Kissing camels,Siamese Twins, Sleeping Giant Spires, Steamboat Rock, Keyhole Window, Tower of Babel etc. I do not know what these are called.

Unlike I normally do, I did not linger around there for a long time since what I saw was good enough for me so this is a single exposure. If you zoom in enough, you will see rock climbers on the formations which is allowed with a permit and there are signs in some areas that there had unfortunately been fatalities so rock climbing is for people who really know what they are doing. Anyone climbing without a permit is fined $500.
