Light Drama on Mormon Row

I shot this picture a a couple of years ago on my first trip to Grand Teton National Park. I am sharing it for the first time now. My family and I were there at the Mormon Row for about 30 minutes and an intense wind storm swept the place kicking up dust and making the grass and sage brush move like water on choppy seas.

The storm was quick and intense. Luckily there was not much of rain but there was as a light show that made for a very interesting scene with the John Moulton Barn sitting on the prairie with the Cathedral Group of Grand Tetons as its back ground.

I wish I had spent a little more time here as the storm picked up and some more light drama, but the kids were hungry and we left for the Jackson Lake Lodge for dinner. Grand Teton National Park is one of a kind and though the historic barns and the scenic Teton Range have been photographed from every imaginable angle, there is always an element of awe from any direction you look at it.
