The day I visited the Hall of Mosses, the light in the Hoh Rainforest was uncharacteristically harsh. To make the most of my time there, I experimented with a 35 year old Minolta Zoom lens (35-70mm macro). I was told that shooting rainforests like the Hoh Rainforest in Olympic National Park was especially challenging given the complex subject.

The sun shining through the canopy, lighting up the mosses and ferns on the forest floor created enough interest for me.
