Candy floss sunrise

I had long admired an image like this that other artists have photographed. That wish became a reality when I visited Oceanside, Oregon on the workshop tour with the legendary Marc Adamus.

After several attempts to get the sea stacks, the morning sunlit clouds, the waves rushing back into the ocean and a couple of birds in the picture, it all came together.

The only things static in this scene were the sea stacks and the lone sea gull that sat on the sea stack in the foreground patiently waiting for whatever it was waiting for. The crashing waves, receding waters, birds flying through the frame made for a dynamic scene. Another early morning effort that was worth waking up for.
